It takes me a while...
This summer has made me realize how long it takes me to get it when God is trying to tell me something or when he is trying to get my attention. For example, my future is completely unknown to me, but completely known to God. I know that I will finish out the week in VBS and go home. After that I will be in Eryn's wedding in January. That's about all I know. I have had a job offer, but I am still trying to decide on that one. And so I came to Brownwood for a week to spend time with some wonderful friends and teach some little kids about Jesus (while skipping around the room singing about cows)! The motto of the VBS is: Need answers? Ask God. Yep. Finally figured that one out today. I'm telling you, it takes me a while! All the lessons in music this week talk about how God had a plan for Joseph, God had a plan for Zaccheus, and guess what? God has a plan for me. A plan for my welfare and not for my harm. So...maybe it's not pre-schoolers who need to learn this lesson. Maybe it is a great lesson for me too. On top of that I have been reading in the Old Testament. God did some pretty cool stuff in those books. It's taken me a while to realize He hasn't changed at all. And not so coincidentally, I am also reading a book about Esther. Purim junkie! It is all about God's providence and waiting on Him, etc. I think I am finally getting the message. Eryn, your blog has also helped me b/c of the verse you use. "Now to Him who is able to do more than all we ask or imagine..." Way to go Holy Spirit-telepathy buddy!
